Battery backup for the Doctors and Pharmacy.
Ferrero Solar designed and installed a commercial solar and battery system at Gordonvale Medical Precinct, at 11–15 Sicilian Avenue. The system is designed to reduce the community building’s reliance on grid electricity during normal operation and provide partial standby power for two nominated tenancies during a grid outage.
The backup design supports designated essential loads in the Doctors and Pharmacy. The remainder of the building is not backed up.
Explore commercial solar in CairnsThe 43.24 kW solar system supplies power to the community building. Excess solar is available to charge the 48.36 kWh Sigenergy battery, with stored energy then used to help reduce the electricity purchased from the grid.
The Sigenergy Energy Gateway automatically changes over to battery supply for designated essential loads in the Doctors and Pharmacy. It automatically transfers back when mains power returns.
This is partial standby power for the nominated tenancies, rather than backup for every load in the building. Available backup depends on battery charge and the demand of the supported loads.
